Mid-Week Events Update Topeka First UMC News, Info., & Events
Greetings Topeka First UMC, I thought I'd send you a note about a few upcoming events! As you know, there are many ways to be connected here at church outside of Sunday mornings. Starting next Wednesday, October 14, another group will be starting! The Cancer Support Group Ministry will meet for the first time here at church at 6:30 pm. This will be a welcoming, confidential place for people affected by cancer to find support, encouragement, prayer, and hope. We'd like to know if you're interested in coming to this group and also ask you to let others know about this group who may not already be connected to our church. If you call the church, reply to this email, or see Shawna on Sunday, we'll get you connected with the group leaders. Next week, the 6:30 pm Wednesday evening activities will include week 5 of the 6-week "Sunday Seconds," the youth group will travel to a Bonfire at the Barkers, and the children will be practicing for their Christmas performance! Be sure to come to dinner at 6 pm before hand! The Fall-o-ween celebration will be held Sunday, Oct. 25 at Noon. We'll have fun eating together (chili & hot dogs), and there will be activities for ALL ages! We'd like to know if you can sponsor a trunk for the Trunk or Treat, supply candy, or bring some chili so stop by the Connection Desk this week. Lastly, please mark your calendar for the Church Charge Conference on Sunday, November 8 at 3 pm. The format of the Church Charge Conference this year is not a cluster conference of multiple churches! The 3 pm meeting will be held here at our church and will only include business of our church. All members are encouraged to attend this annual meeting. Have a great evening! Shawna |
