Greetings Topeka First UMC,

Is it Spring already? The weather has been so nice this last week! I hope you had the chance to get outside and enjoy it.

Lent is almost here! Next week, we observe the beginning of Lent with our Ash Wednesday service at 6 pm. If you can't come to the evening service, you can receive the imposition of ashes from 9:30 am - 11:30 am at the State Capitol Building. Pastor Sandra & I will be on the ground level across from The Capitol Cafe for "Ashes to Go." I hope you will join us next Wednesday, April 18, as we begin our Lent journey together.

On Sunday, we will conclude our sermon series called "When Life Creates Friction." The theme this week is "When Your Back Is Against The Wall." Once again, we will read about Moses during a time when he had no place to turn except to God. I would deeply appreciate your presence (in person or online) this Sunday as I tell my story...when my back was literally against the wall. I look forward to sharing with you about God's presence in my life.
