Greetings Topeka First UMC,

I hope that you have a good, safe 4th of July!

Thank you to everyone who has helped by volunteering and donating toward the Monday Sack Lunch Ministry. We will be serving sack lunches the next 2 Mondays (July 6 & July 13). If you would like to sign up to assist with putting together the bags or handing them out, please reply to this email or see Shawna or Laura in the Celebration Room.

With Pastor Grace leaving, we are searching for our new Director of Next-Gen Ministries. While we continue the search, John Roberts will be our Interim Youth Director. John held a similar position earlier this year while Grace was on maternity leave. Please be in prayer for our search process and let us know if you or someone you know would like to apply for the position.

We will have one service this Sunday, at 10:45 am. This will be a great day in worship as we welcome our new Director of Worship and Caring Ministries, Pat Yancey. Pat has been busy in his first few weeks visiting many in our congregation and making lots of connections. With this being 4th of July weekend, we will be singing a few of the patriotic hymns from our hymnal. We will also be celebrating Holy Communion together.

Phase 2 Cookout

The Phase 2 Cookout is July 8 at 5:30 pm here at the church ($5/per person). If you have questions about this "Baby Boomer" group, see Tiwana or the Connection Desk in the Celebration Room.

AV Booth Volunteer Spots Open!

Hi Church Family,

There are some Sunday morning volunteer spots open that I'd like to know if you could help me fill.

During each service, volunteers sit in the AV booth at the back of the Chapel or up in the AV booth in the Sanctuary balcony and help run slides during the service. The "slides" volunteer simply clicks a button to advance the slides. Volunteers always work next to other volunteers and also me. No experience is necessary but you must be in the AV booth 15 minutes before service begins. Let me know if you'd like to help!

8:15 am, 1st Sunday
8:15 am, 5th Sunday
9:30 am, 3rd Sunday
9:30 am, 5th Sunday
10:45 am, 3rd Sunday

The slots are open to folks who would like an easy, once a month volunteer spot. Teenagers and adults are encouraged to volunteer.
