August 30 Block Party at Topeka First UMC!

Greetings Topeka First UMC,

Coming up on Sunday, August 30 is our 4th annual Block Party. This year we are holding this event on a Sunday right after worship from Noon - 2 pm! We hope you will stay after worship, have lunch and enjoy our community together. We will also have music, the cake walk, and lots of other activities! This is a great opportunity to invite friends, family, and neighbors. 

For the block party to be a success, we need your help! On Sunday, there will be a display with volunteer opportunities, and items that could be donated. Be sure to take a look and let us know how you can help! You can also reply to this email to let us know how you can help.

8 packs of 24-water bottles (200 total)

200 hamburger buns

200 hamburger patties (Sam's 40-ct box, frozen)

1 barbeque grill for grilling hamburgers (not a flat-top)

2 large bottles of bubbles for the bubble machine

3 bottles of glycerin for making big bubbles

2 large bottles of original blue Dawn dish soap

3 BBQ Sauce

6 Ketchup

3 Mustard

3 Mayo

Pickles

**LOTS and LOTS of cakes for the Cake Walk**

3-4 helpers for the cake walk area

6 volunteers to serve food

4 parking lot attendants

2 registration helpers

3 corn-hole helpers

10 floaters--people who like to walk around and talk, greet, help wherever

1 more grill master to grill hamburgersPlease be in prayer for a great event together!

Also, if you have a tractor or an cool car (antique, or simply cool!) we'd like to have you bring them to show off what you have!
