Topeka First UMC News, Info., & Events, April 24, 2026

Greetings Topeka First UMC,

I hope that you are having a great week!

Coming up this weekend in worship, we are continuing our sermon series, "Failing Forward." This Sunday, Pastor Sandra will lead us through failing forward when we have failed someone, or someone has failed us. Please remember to bring cards and well wishes for David Blackman and his retirement.

The following Sunday, May 3, is graduate Sunday and presentation of 3rd grade bibles. After worship will be our town hall luncheon. Please be sure to sign up so we know how much food to cook.

See you Sunday,
Pastor Brad

Nehemiah Action Assembly

Nehemiah Action Assembly

You're invited to gather with community members, faith leaders, and local officials for the Topeka JUMP Nehemiah Assembly on Thursday, April 30 at 6:30 PM at Washburn University's Lee Arena.

This is a powerful opportunity to come together and take faithful, collective action around some of the most urgent issues facing our community, including homelessness, affordable housing, and food insecurity. Through stories, shared concerns, and specific calls to action, we will work toward real, tangible change in Topeka.

Your presence matters. When we show up together, we make it clear that these issues cannot be ignored. We hope you'll join us and consider inviting a friend, neighbor, or fellow church member to come alongside you. Contact Pastor Grace for more information!
