The Art of Neighboring –  Wednesday Nights Downtown

This study will examine the ways in which we as Christians can seek to exist as disciples of Christ by being intentional neighbors. How do we share our lives with the people closest to us and how do we share the love of Christ with those in our circles of influence? These practical questions will be the ones we ask in The Art of Neighboring. Register here.

The True Jesus Book Study – Wednesday Nights Downtown

“The True Jesus by David Limbaugh looks at the question uttered by Jesus Christ, “Who do you say that I am?”  To answer this question, The True Jesus goes straight to the unimpeachable source: the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.  In this book, Limbaugh combines the four Gospel stories into a unified account to guide readers through the life of Jesus Christ.”

This is the “…book I was compelled to buy…that opened scripture up to me…” as told by Scott Beck in his “Stories for the Journey” during this past Lenten season.  Scott will facilitate a “book club” style sharing of participants’ revelations, inspirations, and thoughts during this seven-week study. Purchase or possession of a copy of this book will be required.  It is available in printed and digital formats. (A limited number of books have been made available to the church for purchase at a reduced price or for temporary loan.) Register here. For a more detailed description of the class click here.

Love Does – Wednesday Nights Downtown (Starting October 10)

Love Does is a five-session small group experience about God’s love…and the most amazing thing about that love is that it’s not just a bunch of rules or stuff we have to agree with. God’s love is different. It changes things. It’s active. It works. It risks. God’s love….does. Each session explores a different aspect of God’s active love through the stories of Bob Goff. Joshua: Winning the Worry Battle – Tuesday Nights

“Just pray about it.” “God’s got this.” Although these phrases are heartfelt words of encouragement, when you’re really worried and stressed they just sound like clichés. We long for something more. We want to know how to have a bold and courageous faith. In this 6- week study for women you’ll learn how to fight in faith as you internalize God’s promises, draw strength from God’s faithfulness, act in obedience to God’s commands and believe what our limitless God can do.
There is an interactive workbook that participants are asked to engage with on a daily basis as we prepare for our gathering each week. Linda Oborny and Marge Whelpley will facilitate the 6-week class. Meeting dates are Tuesday evenings, September 11, 18, 25 and October 2,9, 16 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Please sign up on the Church Connection portal or on your connection card. The book is $10.
