April Missions Collection

This April, we are going to fill the food pantry at Doorstep. Please take a few extra minutes at the grocery store to fill a bag with any–or all–of the items listed below and bring it to the Celebration Room any time in April. Doorstep, Inc. strives to provide well-rounded food orders for their clients. The food is selected to put meals together and last for five days at three meals a day. They also need hygiene items like, deodorant. Below is a typical client food order:
  • Macaroni and Cheese
  • Pinto Beans
  • Spaghetti
  • Canned Fruit
  • Canned/Packaged Soups: Tomato, Chicken Noodle, Vegetable, Ramen Noodles
  • Milk – Canned/Powdered
  • Cereal – Hot/Dry
  • Jelly
  • Bread
  • Egg Noodles
  • Rice
  • Spaghetti Sauce
  • Tuna
  • Canned Vegetables: corn, green beans, peas, pork and beans
  • Crackers
  • Peanut Butter
  • Hamburger–1 lb.
  • Sugar, Flour, Cake Mixes, Cooking Oil, etc. per client request, if available.

Thank you for providing 103 Dinty Moore microwavable meals for Topeka North Outreach.

December:

Thank you for the outpouring of gifts for those served by Topeka Rescue Mission and Doorstep! Your generosity is overwhelming, and is sure to bring hope to many. Thank you also for contributing to our Christmas Eve offering, which raised $3,895 for global and local missions, and to our Mitten Tree, which brought in over 170 items to keep kids at State Street Elementary warm this winter.

Thank you for bringing in 96 units of soap and body wash for our neighbors at Let’s Help.

Thank you for donating 128 units of tissues and wet wipes for State Street Elementary.

Together we collected 540 school supplies to help Topeka North Outreach give their 600+ kids a successful start to the school  year.

Jeans in June:

You provided more than 200 pairs of jeans for the men in our community served by Doorstep!

May:

Thank you for helping us collect 30 pounds of ground coffee for Let’s Help, and sponsoring 289 sacks of snacks for Operation Backpack!

We collected 200 boxes of cereal for Let’s Help to give Topeka families a healthy start for the school year.

School Supplies for Topeka North Outreach:

Your generous response to TNO’s appeal for school supplies brought in 525 items to help Topeka kids have a bright start to their school year. We are glad to have a congregation that cares so much for our community.

Doorstep’s Christmas in July:

Thank you for helping us provide 65 items to help Doorstep beat the Christmas rush! These gifts will bring hope to many of our neighbors this winter.

Jeans in June:

Thank you for supporting Jeans in June, our clothing drive for Doorstep! By donating nearly 400 pairs of jeans, you’ve helped us meet a great need in our community.
