January 5 eNote from Pastor Jeff

Happy New Year! I hope that you have had a great week and that 2018 is off to a good start for you and yours.
Many thanks to everyone who helped make all of our worship experiences so special through Advent and Christmas. We had a great crowd at both of our Christmas Eve services and I am aware it takes a great number of volunteers to make special services like these happen. I am grateful for everyone who gave of themselves to help our guests experience the great gift of Christ’s love.
This week we have welcomed a new staff member to the team. On January 1st, Austin Harris formally began his work as our Director of Worship Experience. He will be present in all three services this weekend, and I trust you’ll want to greet him and help him feel at home in his new church. Please join me in welcoming Austin as a part of our church family!
This Sunday in worship, we begin a new series called, “Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Prayer, But Were Afraid to Ask.” Heading into a New Year, I find people often make resolutions about their spiritual lives or prayer habits, but then soon begin to struggle with how exactly to pray more. This weekend we begin a four-part exploration of prayer designed to help people develop new prayer habits as they take the next step in their journey of following Jesus. Please consider inviting friends to join us for worship through this series, as I believe these messages will be helpful for people at all different places on their spiritual journey.
Again, I hope that you have had a great week and I look forward to worship with you on Sunday. I am excited to see what 2018 holds for us as a church and continue to feel incredibly blessed to be serving as your pastor in this time.
