April 13th eNote from Pastor Jeff

I hope you’re well as another week comes to a close! Today’s note contains a couple of quick updates/reminders and an invitation.

To begin with, the updates/reminders:
Every person connected to our congregation is invited to complete a skills and gifts inventory at some point during the month of April. These small surveys were included in the bulletin last Sunday and will be for the next two weeks. They are also available in the church office. There is a plastic tub in the Celebration Room marked “surveys” in which you may place your completed survey. The information you share will be compiled in the church’s database so we can best connect people with opportunities to serve as needs arise. The mission team has taken the lead on designing and implementing this survey and is due much credit and thanks.

Secondly, the Children’s Discipleship Team is currently recruiting volunteers to help with this summer’s Vacation Bible School experiences. On two different weekends (June 29th and 30th and July 27th and 28th) we offer Friday and Saturday opportunities for children to participate. Volunteers from Children’s Discipleship will be in the Celebration Room this Sunday looking to connect with you. I hope you’ll consider the ways you might be involved in these weekends of faith formation and celebration with the children of our church!

Finally, the invitation(s):

This weekend, a special guest, made possible by the Tempero Sandall Endowed Fellowship, will join us at church. The Rev. Dr. Roger Ross is the Director of Congregational Excellence for the Missouri Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. He will lead our staff and Leadership Council through a workshop on Saturday, preaching at all three services on Sunday, and leading a workshop on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. The Sunday afternoon event is open to everyone, but will be of particular interest for people excited about finding ways to help connect what happens inside the walls of our church with our neighbors and the community around us. I invite you to make it a point to come for worship on Sunday, and to consider participating in the workshop on Sunday afternoon.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and I look forward to seeing you for worship on Sunday!
